Calm tools for changing habits
Quitwon is a small studio making quiet, privacy-first apps that help people change their drinking. We started with the tool we needed most.
Sober Tracker began with a lost counter. Someone close to us restarted a sobriety app after a phone upgrade, and months of quiet effort didn't come with it. The app wanted a login, an email, and a subscription before it would even say how many days it was holding.
That's backwards. A counter is possibly the simplest useful object in software: it should start instantly, keep its number faithfully, and belong entirely to the person counting. Everything wrong with that app came from treating a personal record as a business asset — something to be gated, metered, and held.
So we built the counter we wanted instead. It works offline from first launch, keeps everything on the device, handles relapse with dignity instead of shame, and never nags. The studio around it took the name Quitwon; the apps carry "Sober Tracker" for now, with Quitwon presenting them.
We're deliberately small. No growth team, no engagement metrics to feed, no streak casino. The roadmap is unglamorous: make the number reliable, the check-in frictionless, the garden worth visiting.
How we decide what to build
Privacy is structural, not a policy
Recovery data is intimate. It lives on your device, and the app works without an account. The few features that touch the network say so plainly.
The core is free forever
The counter, milestones, journal and garden will never sit behind a paywall. Premium adds depth — craving logs, insights, PDF reports — never the things that hold your progress.
No preaching
You already know alcohol is bad for you; that's why you're here. The app's whole voice is quiet numbers and small observations, never lectures.
Starting again counts
There's a badge for restarting after a relapse, because beginning again is the most statistically successful move in recovery. Tools that punish it have misunderstood the job.
